The Various Factors of Online Education

In this article, we will discuss the various factors of online education. Successful online education should be sustainable. It is therefore of great concern that much of the online education that has been offered so far has been transient, unsuccessful and far from sustainable. A lot of it has been supported by external funding and ended when the external funding stopped. Enormous amounts of money have more or less been wasted. It is therefore important to study initiatives that lack sustainability and understand some of the reasons for this .the factors that motivate most tenure-track faculty are mainly intrinsic rewards. They are motivated by flexible working conditions, intellectual challenge, opportunity to share knowledge with others, and career development. Unlike part-time and full-time non-tenured faculty groups, less than half of the tenure-track faculty is motivated by gaining additional teaching experience or the opportunity to use technology. Like the other groups, over half of the tenure-track faculty can be discouraged by their concerns about workload. Providing them with continuous training, increased institutional support, fair financial compensation, and opportunities to assist with course/program development may retain most tenure-track faculty.

Identification of characteristics and trends of e-learning initiatives that failed to reach targeted goals should be vital for the progress and development of the field.. As tax payers, we should be concerned about how public educational initiatives have wasted money on dubious initiatives and how hard it could be to reveal details about them. In my view, the most interesting and challenging pedagogical challenge in our lifetime is how we can provide online education that combines individual freedom with meaningful cooperation. Web based learning is the educational craze that is sweeping the nation. The advantages of web based learning have become so readily apparent that colleges and universities of all sizes are implementing web based learning programs, and many are requiring some degree of web based course work in all degree programs. As technology continues to improve, the percentage of course work that must be completed online will surely increase. These traditional schools are only now beginning to discover what online universities have been saying all along.

Online schools have declared from the beginning that the quality of education received in the virtual classroom is just as good or better than in standard classroom settings. With the mainstream educational institutions now jumping on the web based band wagon, it is no wonder that we are seeing even more online universities popping up every day. he advantages of online education are numerous, and this is not intended as a comprehensive list. These are only intended to get you thinking and asking serious questions about online education as a viable alternative for your educational goals. If these are appealing to you, earning a degree from an online university is something you might seriously want to consider. One of the primary advantages of attending an online college is saving money. The cost of tuition and attendance at schools in this country has been on the rise for many years. Even earning a degree at your hometown school is not the bargain it once was. Consistent and continuous hikes in tuition have caused many local colleges to fall on hard times. Faculty members have had to be laid off and programs cut back or cancelled. Online universities are less expensive and an increasingly good bargain.
